| 1972 | Gave up Advertising to journey to New Zealand with Meg and children Moira and Callum and stayed. After six days found McKenzie Bay Homestead and moved in with the sea for breakfast. Farm outbuildings became a beach side Atelier Studio and Gallery print workshop. |

| 2008 | Overseas study - As we had always thought we might live in the Isles we organised a house in Dornie Wester Ross and spent three months living as villagers in the west of Scotlan close to the Isle of Skye speaking Gaelic and researching the history the clearances and the peeople of the Islanof Raasay with local friends as I still hope to teach children at the Heads school the language and legacy. |
